Today’s Daf Session is sponsored by

Avrham was known for his Teffilah (prayer). Avraham reached a most elevated level in which he bonded, trusted, and achieved effective Teffilah. In this session we explore Avraham’s strategy, and how we can emulate Avraham’s perspective.

Quick Review:
The attitude of Avraham in Tefilah even after his request for Sedom was mostly rejected
Moshe’s challenge when slavery gets worse at the start of his mission
Doniel invokes the relationship of Avraham to beg for redemption
Thinking Question: Even though it is proper to actually designate a specific location for prayer… If someone sits down in your seat, must you ask him to move?
Points you don’t want to miss:
Even if you can’t go to shul, there is value in davening at the same time as the congregation. (Brachos 7b)
*******************************
Hashem yearns for the opportunity to deal with us in a way that is kinder than the letter of the law. (Brachos 7a) When we act kindly to others and judge others favorably we create a merit “measure for measure” that justifies Hashem being extra benevolent to us.

Am I to understand “Location” in this Daf as a specific place (same area) or the specific Being (Hashem) I am to daven to each day. Also the word netherland Is used. I do not understand the context explain please. Norm Wa. State
Great Observation! “Location” is symbolic of approaching Hashem once again, realizing that Hashem may sometimes say “No” (as in this case of the request to spare Sedom). In contrast, idol worship is based on the perspective that, “I must get what I want, and if I don’t I will shop elsewhere.” Returning to the same “place” to pray symbolizes a reverence that recognizes Hashem as the Master, as Avraham did.
When you have trouble with a word, please keep track of how many minutes into the recording the word was said, and we will try to help you with that.
Best!
The word netherland is at time 7:58–8:00. Still learning Norm
Rabbi Rhine’s Reply- Got it now. Sorry for the inconvenience. I was speaking quickly, so it is not so audible. What I said was, they asked Avraham, “Is this the G-d of benevolence” whom you speak of?!
